Ken Welch's Re-election Bid
Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch has accumulated over $200,000 ahead of his expected re-election bid, largely thanks to donations from developers.
His new political committee, The Pelican Political Action Committee, raised $142,300 in the third quarter of 2025, bringing the total funds raised to over $234,000.
With less than $26,000 spent, Welch entered October with approximately $209,000 on hand.
His previous committee, Pelican PAC, was revoked in November due to repeated failures to file required reports.
The new committee enjoyed several large contributions from both local and out of town interests.
