The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal office in Jena held an open house and anniversary celebration last Wednesday, October 8, marking 120 years of service to the parish.
Attendees included state and local elected officials, executives from parish industries, and local businesses. The event allowed the newspaper to express its gratitude to advertisers and supporters.
The Jena Times is the oldest continuously operated business in LaSalle Parish, founded in 1905, five years before the creation of LaSalle Parish.
“We really wanted to just hold a small event for our newspaper’s anniversary and were so blessed by the number of people who attended,”
said current owners Craig and Kim Franklin, who expressed their deep appreciation to all attendees.
The Franklins added,
“Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.”
