A Madison County precinct committeeman, Larry Savage, has accepted a diversion agreement in an election tampering case, likely avoiding any charges.
According to IPR's Thomas Ouellette, Savage was seen on camera taking home two sample ballots during a public test of Madison County's voting machines last October.
State law says those ballots must all be accounted for and sealed, but Savage claimed he had no idea he couldn’t take them home.
By agreeing to the diversion agreement, Savage will likely be able to avoid trial and still be eligible to run for office.
