Shoreditch's Zapote to Open Taco Bar Chicozapote
Shoreditch-based Mexican restaurant Zapote will launch a taco bar, Chicozapote, within its Leonard Street site.
Chicozapote will open on Day of the Dead, 30 October, featuring a terracotta and dark wood wraparound counter seating 12 covers.
- Saddle of rabbit, mojo roco, black beans and crispy kale
- Oxtail, chargrilled lobster and smoked taramasalata
- Sweet dishes: cinnamon brioche, vanilla custard and orange confit
- Calaveras filled with dark chocolate, hibiscus gel and raspberry cremant
Tacos are an integral element of our restaurant, so Chicozapote felt like the perfect space to dignify and celebrate them
Zapote co-founder Tony Geary said. Zapote, which opened in 2023, serves over 500 tacos daily.
