The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting highlighted positive membership figures and significant successes across the union, despite the rise of the far right and the threat of Reform UK.
According to General Secretary Christina McAnea, the union has made a net growth of almost 20,000 members, stating:
This is a great achievement, and we are moving in the right direction. It’s a great tribute to branches and regions that we are bucking the trend and a testament to everything the union does that people still want to join us.
The meeting also discussed the Pay Fair for Patient Care campaign, which has helped win £200m for members, driving recruitment and union growth.
