Reform Defector Maria Caulfield Defends Anti-Vaccine Doctor's Appearance

Maria Caulfield, a former Tory minister and current Reform member, defended her party's decision to invite anti-vax doctor Dr. Aseem Malhotra to speak at its conference.

Dr. Malhotra falsely linked King Charles and the Princess of Wales' cancer diagnoses to their COVID-19 vaccination in his speech on September 6.

Reform have come out pretty clearly about that yes he spoke at their conference, but it’s not necessarily views that they support.

Caulfield, an NHS nurse and health minister, dismissed Dr. Malhotra's claims as "free speech" and stated that she disagreed with his comments, while also acknowledging that Reform had distanced itself from them.

In a Newsnight interview, Caulfield defended the party's decision, sparking controversy over the platforming of misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.
