China Offers Hope in Fight Against Plastic Waste
A subtle shift in China's position has sparked optimism for further talks to control plastic pollution.
After global plastic treaty talks fell apart in Switzerland, many negotiators and civil society groups were left in despair.
"We've just wasted money, wasted time," said Heni Unwin, a Māori marine scientist. "We are the ones who get impacted with all of the trash left by all of the world [that] turns up on our shores."
