Following months of intense negotiations, the Dock Workers' Union of Liberia has achieved a historic win.
Dockers at the Freeport of Monrovia stood firm in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with APM Terminals Liberia, resulting in significant improvements to their pay and conditions.
"This is an historic win for DOWUL and for all Liberian workers who continue to demand fairness, justice, and respect in the workplace – I would like to thank the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) Dockers' Section for their unwavering support and solidarity right through the negotiations and strike," said Ballah Kpadeh, DOWUL General Secretary.
The union's determination and unity paid off after months of negotiations and short bursts of industrial action.
