49ers Roster Move: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling Heads to IR
The San Francisco 49ers have placed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the injured reserve list due to a calf injury.
"We sent him for an MRI," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "I haven't got the news back yet, but it's something with his calf, which usually isn't that good."
Valdes-Scantling joined the 49ers' practice squad on August 28, 2025, and was promoted to the active roster on September 3. He has appeared in five games, recording four receptions for 40 yards, averaging 10.0 yards per catch.
The 49ers' receiving corps will be impacted for upcoming games due to this injury.
