Why Law Firms Should Apply to be B Corps

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are increasingly important for law firms.

More law firms than ever are focusing on being environmentally and socially responsible, but few take the next step into B Corp certification.

Currently, out of 3,467 certified companies in the UK, only 36 law firms have achieved B Corp certification.

Certified B Corps meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Certified B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on workers, clients, suppliers, community, and the environment, rather than focusing solely on profit.

The reason why so few law firms are certified remains unclear.
