Rangers are back to square one in their manager hunt after being rejected by their former boss Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard was the favourite to succeed Russell Martin, who was relieved of his duties earlier this month, just 123 days after his appointment.
The Gers currently find themselves down in eighth position in the Scottish Premiership, having collected just eight points from the opening seven games of the season, averaging less than a goal per game.
Martin was sacked following the 1-1 draw with Falkirk last weekend.
Gerrard had been expected to return for a second stint in Glasgow following positive talks between the out-of-work manager and the Scottish giants.
Gerrard was Rangers boss between 2018 and 2021 before departing for Aston Villa and then taking over Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq in 2023.
