Ferrari 296 Speciale Brings 868 Horsepower and Hybrid Tech to Track-Focused Bloodline

Ferrari 296 Speciale: A Track-Focused Evolution

The Ferrari 296 Speciale is the latest special-series model, boasting 868 horsepower and hybrid technology.

Compared to its predecessor, the 296 Speciale gains 49 horsepower and sheds 60 kilograms, allowing it to lap Fiorano faster than the LaFerrari.

The powertrain features a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 hybrid paired with a 7.45 kWh battery, with the combustion engine producing an extra 36 horsepower thanks to mapping from the 296 Challenge race car.

This model is the first special-series car to utilize a V6 hybrid instead of a V8, and the first to reuse a nameplate from Ferrari's V8 range, tying it to the legendary 458 Speciale.

The 458 Speciale remains one of the greatest naturally aspirated supercars ever built.
