The Dodgers have left lefty relief pitcher Alex Vesia off their World Series roster due to a "deeply personal family matter."
According to Manager Dave Roberts, Vesia is "most likely" to miss the entire series. Vesia and his wife, Kayla, are dealing with this personal matter, and he did not travel to Toronto with the team.
"It's certainly on our hearts and we miss him, and we'll be thinking about him,"
said Roberts. The Dodgers adjusted their bullpen, adding right-handers Edgardo Henriquez and Will Kl, to face the Blue Jays.
Vesia could only be added to the roster as a replacement for an injured player, as the Dodgers did not put him on family bereavement leave, which would have had a three-to-seven day limit on his absence.
