Trump Open to Concessions with China
President Donald Trump has suggested he is willing to make concessions to China to ease trade tensions.
"Sure they’ll have to make concessions" if China does not want to be hit by extra tariffs on its exports to the U.S.
Trump stated this as he began his tour of Asian countries, adding that the US would also make concessions to reach a deal.
- Current tariff on Chinese goods is 157%.
- Trump threatens to impose an extra 100% tariff from November if China does not roll back restrictions on rare earths exports.
Trump is set to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in South Korea next week.
