Afreximbank's New President: Dr George Elombi
Dr George Elombi, a Cameroonian economist, has been sworn in as the fourth President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank.
He succeeds Professor Benedict Oramah, who served since 2015. Dr Elombi has been with the institution since 1996 and has a transformative vision centered on trade industrialisation, value addition, and intra-African integration.
Over the past decade, Afreximbank’s total assets and guarantees have grown eightfold to $43.5 billion, making it one of the continent’s most powerful financial institutions.
Revenues have also risen sevenfold to $3 billion. Dr Elombi's vision includes industrialisation, trade, and digital expansion.
