TVK's Bussy Anand Withdraws Anticipatory Bail Plea
Anand's counsel informed the court of the decision to withdraw the plea due to the investigation being transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The court, consisting of Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan, allowed the request and dismissed the plea as withdrawn.
Previously, on October 3, a vacation court had dismissed the anticipatory bail plea filed by Anand and CTR Nirmal Kumar, citing their role in alleged offences and the preliminary stage of the investigation.
The prosecution's case is that the party's late arrival and unauthorized roadshow led to a crowd increase, resulting in a tragic stampede.
