FatBoy Zine is a unique blend of a personal cookbook, cultural diary, and mini magazine.
“It used to be all of me, it was directed entirely by my thoughts, taste, and words. But since inviting more people in, it’s become shared. Now it’s like an end of school notebook you get everyone to sign.”
Creator Christopher O’Leary, born in Hong Kong and based in various cities including the Philippines, Liverpool, and London, brings a diverse cultural perspective to the zine.
After suffering the loss of a close family member, Christopher felt a loss of heritage and identity, prompting him to start writing recipes to remember and honor their memory.
Using grief as a catalyst, he transformed his emotions into a positive outlet, resulting in FatBoy Zine.
Author's summary: FatBoy Zine is a cultural diary and cookbook.
