Greece and Cyprus have been formally invited by U.S. President Donald Trump to a Gaza peace summit in Egypt on October 13, highlighting their roles in Eastern Mediterranean diplomacy.
The invitations were extended directly to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to take part in a high-level summit on Gaza, set to take place on October 13, 2025, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
The conference is being organized amid heightened international concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict in Gaza and will be chaired by US President Donald Trump and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he will attend.
The summit follows a historic ceasefire deal, aiming to address the situation in Gaza.
