An Indigenous women-led enterprise, Heart in Hand, is one of eight companies to receive a grant from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB).
Ojibwe creator Abigail Rutledge, the proprietor of Heart in Hand, creates and sells beaded earrings and other accessories. She has received $2,500 from the organization's Indigenous Women Entrepreneurship Fund (IWEF), along with a one-year CCIB membership.
The membership provides access to business development tools, resources, and a national network. The initiative is supported by LNG Canada. Winners were selected through a lottery system during a live draw.
"We're incredibly proud to offer this funding for the sixth consecutive year,"
said Philip Ducharme, CCIB's vice-president of entrepreneurship and procurement.
