A rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for a large area of the province, from Indian Head to north of La Ronge, with the system expected to stay east of Saskatoon.
Precipitation will begin as rain, with totals reaching up to 30 mm, before transitioning to snow in the afternoon. Snowfall amounts are expected to be 15 to 25 cm by Monday evening, with some areas potentially seeing up to 30 cm.
Rapidly accumulating snow may make travel difficult in some locations, which is a concern as the Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
