The federal government shutdown has affected many workers in Jackson Hole, but some have found ways to cope with the situation.
A furloughed federal employee has taken up a side gig at Spirit Halloween, stocking shelves. When asked about the experience, he said:
“It is very different from working outside,” ... “There’s a reason I don’t do this for a living.”
Meanwhile, the Jackson Hole Senior Center is providing support to furloughed workers, including lunch. Jeremie Hill, the center's chef, was seen handing out lunch to a furloughed forest service worker.
The shutdown has also affected essential services in Grand Teton National Park, with visitor centers closed, leaving tourists to seek alternative restrooms.
Former Bridger-Teton National Forest Supervisor Tricia O'Connor has been involved in discussions related to the shutdown.
