A 19-year-old Troy man, Kemaury Everett, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in Albany County Court.
Everett admitted to hitting and killing 93-year-old Charles Allendorph with his car at the intersection of Congress and Newark streets in Cohoes. According to police, Everett backed over Allendorph's body after the initial impact, despite witnesses' pleas to stop.
Everett's plea also satisfies charges of second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and a pending drug charge in another case.
He faces 5 to 15 years in prison when sentenced on January.
