Two New S-70i Firehawks to Join L.A. County Fire Department Fleet
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has ordered two additional S-70i Firehawk firefighting helicopters from Sikorsky.
In a year that highlighted the threat of wildfires, the County's Fire Department is expanding its fleet with two new Sikorsky helicopters, announced by Lockheed Martin on Oct. 29, 2025.
These helicopters will join the existing fleet of five Sikorsky S-70s and three Bell 412s.
"The Firehawk helicopter has been the cornerstone of our aerial firefighting capability for more than two decades," - Anthony C. Marrone, Fire Chief for the County of Los Angeles.
