Rochester Chabad Hosts Annual Community Sukkot Party
Families gathered at Chabad-Lubavitch of Southern Minnesota on Sunday to celebrate Sukkot, a week-long Jewish holiday.
Sukkot is a celebration of joy, unity, and connection, commemorating the protection provided to the children of Israel during their 40-year desert journey after leaving Egypt.
“It’s a great way for us to get together and for Jewish people to celebrate their heritage and to share that heritage with the community,”
said Rabbi Shloime Greene, executive vice president of Chabad-Lubavitch of Southern Minnesota.
The holiday lasts eight days outside of Israel and seven days within Israel, celebrating the fall harvest.
