€500,000 Allocated for Carrigart-Downings Walkway
DONEGAL County Council has been allocated €500,000 to complete the walkway between Carrigart and Downings under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).
The funding is in respect of measures two and three of the scheme, which provides funding of up to €500,000 for strategic repair and maintenance of existing facilities, together with the development of new recreational infrastructure.
“This is excellent news for the Carrigart and Downings and will be a huge boost for the area which is one of the busiest tourist spots in Donegal.”
Donegal Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue, welcomed the announcement.
