Northstate Honors Flight Nurse with Final Ride Home
Communities across the Northstate came together Sunday to honor flight nurse Susan “Suzie” Smith with a final ride home.
Smith, who died Saturday from injuries sustained in last week’s REACH helicopter crash in Sacramento, was flown from Sacramento to Red Bluff.
From there, first responders escorted her by ambulance to Palo Cedro.
- Along the route, members of the public lined overpasses to pay tribute.
- Emergency crews from multiple EMS, fire, and law enforcement agencies also joined in.
As
communities came together to honor her memory, her final ride home was a testament to her dedication and service.
