Stratford Film Festival Founder Explains Selection Process
The Stratford Film Festival received hundreds of submissions from dozens of countries, with over 500 submissions from 48 countries for its inaugural event.
"I had someone who stopped me at Zehrs and said, 'Hey, aren't you the movie lady? I just wanted to tell you I really enjoyed the film,'" said Megan Smith-Harris, co-founder and director of the Stratford Film Festival.
Smith-Harris is comfortable being known as "the movie lady" and is happy to welcome movie-lovers to the four-day event. The festival has been a long time coming for Smith-Harris, who had the idea to start a film festival in Stratford before she even moved there with her husband Bill Harris.
