A pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle at an intersection in downtown Whitehorse, according to Yukon RCMP spokesperson Calista MacLeod.
Whitehorse RCMP received a report at around 12:50 p.m. about a driver that hit a pedestrian at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Elliott Street. The driver stayed on the scene.
A portion of 2nd Avenue in downtown Whitehorse was closed to traffic following the incident. Emergency services and the Whitehorse bylaw department closed the road between Main Street and Elliott Street and diverted traffic around the area.
A News reporter on scene observed one person being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. The police investigation has wrapped up and traffic is no longer impacted, MacLeod confirmed at about 3 p.m.
