Never be afraid to ask ‘Why?’
Richard Beardshaw, Head of Sales, Mortgage Intermediaries at HSBC UK, began his career in financial services after leaving a junior marketing role. He found a temping job with Barclays Mortgages through a recruitment agency.
After 12 months of temping and learning about mortgages, he landed his first real job in financial services, running the mortgage desk for Scottish Life Home Loans in 1996. There, he met industry legends Pete Beaumont and Guy Batchelor.
