Two Suspects Charged with Common Law Robbery and Kidnapping in Charlotte

Andre and Darnell Davis were arrested on charges of Common Law Robbery and Second Degree Kidnapping following an incident involving a store employee. Officers from the Providence Division responded to a reported robbery at the 2200 block of Park Road, as shared by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on Facebook.

The situation escalated when a store employee confronted the suspects as they attempted to leave with unpaid merchandise, leading to a physical assault. Further investigation revealed Andre Desmond Davis, 20, and Darnell Montraite Davis, 39, as the individuals involved.

Detectives interviewed the suspects voluntarily ten days after the incident, resulting in their arrest and transfer to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The report stated that "the store employee was caught in the turmoil that the suspects unleashed, fleeing post-haste once their actions met resistance."

Both men now face charges of Common Law Robbery and Second Degree Kidnapping.
