The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has introduced a global digital passport for horses called Equipass, aimed at consolidating health, security, and ownership information. This marks the first step towards its worldwide adoption over the next two years.
Equipass is designed as a comprehensive solution to address the horse industry’s critical need for reliable health records, regulatory compliance, and enhanced disease control.
“By streamlining documentation and ensuring verification, it also facilitates the smooth and safe international movement of horses, reducing administrative complexities while strengthening biosecurity across borders.” – Gaspard Dufour, FEI Director of Technology Operations
The FEI emphasizes that Equipass will enhance the efficiency of international horse movement while maintaining rigorous biosecurity measures and regulatory adherence worldwide.
Equipass, launched by the FEI, is a pioneering digital passport system designed to unify essential health and ownership data, streamlining horse management and international travel securely and efficiently.
