AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (TSX: ATRL), a global leader in engineering and nuclear services, has been chosen by Hydro One Networks Inc., an Ontario-based utility with nearly 10,000 employees, for a multi-year Owner's Engineer role to expand the Bowmanville Switching Station.

Project Significance and Location

The Bowmanville Switching Station, located opposite the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, will be expanded to support the integration of four new Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) planned by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) at the nearby Darlington New Nuclear Project site.

This expansion is a crucial step to connect the new nuclear power generated from the SMRs to the electrical grid, ensuring reliable electricity for southern Ontario, including the city of Toronto.
