Helen Mirren to Receive Golden Globes Lifetime Achievement Award

Dame Helen Mirren, 80, already an Oscar, four BAFTA, five Emmy, one Tony, and three Golden Globe winner, is set to receive another distinguished honor. She will be awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Golden Globe for lifetime achievement at a ceremony on January 8, 2026, just days before the main Golden Globes event.

The British acting icon, whose career has spanned six decades, made her debut at 18 with the National Youth Theatre and earned her first film credit in the 1967 movie Herostratus. Her remarkable versatility and dedication have made her one of the most respected figures in the film industry.

“Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honour to present her with the Cecil B DeMille award.”

Mirren joins a distinguished list of past recipients, including Meryl Streep, Alfred Hitchcock, and last year’s winner Viola Davis. The same event will also feature the presentation of the Carol Burnett Award for television achievement, with the recipient yet to be announced.
