Erika Kirk became emotional while talking about her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during an interview on Fox News on November 5. She reflected on their early relationship and how she supported him as he grew in his career, especially through his role at Turning Point USA.
Throughout the interview, host Jesse Watters showed Erika several video clips of Charlie. After viewing one, she broke down in tears. "It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second," she said, bowing her head and weeping. Jesse consoled her gently, "Take your time." The broadcast then briefly faded to black as she struggled to maintain composure.
When Jesse Watters asked if she knew about Charlie's mission to save Western civilization, Erika replied, "No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life."
Regarding the day before Charlie’s assassination on September 10, Erika shared, "He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event."
