Canon EOS R6 Mark III Review
The Canon EOS R6 Mark III is a mid-range full-frame mirrorless camera that replaces the EOS R6 Mark II from 2023. It features a new 32.5 megapixel CMOS sensor, delivering a 25% increase in resolution compared to the 24.2 megapixel sensor of its predecessor.
Performance and Shooting
The camera offers a class-leading burst shooting speed of 40fps with the electronic shutter, maintaining continuous autofocus and auto-exposure. Using the mechanical shutter, it shoots at 12fps, matching the top-tier EOS R3. It also includes a pre-continuous shooting mode capturing up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed.
The buffer for uncompressed RAW shots (using CFexpress cards) has doubled from the R6 Mark II to 150 shots.
Image Stabilization and ISO
Image stabilization reaches up to 8.5 stops by combining the in-body Image Stabilizer with lens-based stabilization. The native ISO range spans from 100 to 51200 and can expand from ISO 50 to 102400 for more flexibility in various lighting conditions.
Video Capabilities
- Internal RAW video recording up to 7K at 60p or 7K/30p with Open Gate mode enabled.
- High frame rate recording at 4K 120p and 2K 180p.
