Hilary Duff opened up about returning to the studio and preparing to release her new single, Mature, on November 6. This marks her first new music since her 2015 album Breathe In.
Speaking with host Jake Shane on the season finale of the Therapuss podcast, Duff said that stepping back into music felt natural and inevitable.
“It was always going to happen. There’s no way that that was not going to be a part of my story.”
Now 38, the pop star and Disney alum feels ready to re-engage with fans and express who she has become during this time away.
“I feel ready to fill in the blanks and share with people and connect with them on the level of now.”
Duff described a deep, long-standing bond with fans who have followed her since childhood. She said life has brought challenges and growth, giving her new material to share.
“We’ve gone through a lot of the same things — complicated relationships, anxiety, raising kids, divorces, trying to find yourself in adulthood, family drama.”
She added that after years of transformation and family stability, she finally feels comfortable enough to open up through her music once again.
Hilary Duff embraces a confident return to music after a decade-long break, eager to reconnect with fans and reflect her life’s evolution through new songs.
