Dozens of Calgary police officers, transit peace officers, and social agency workers swarmed the downtown core on Wednesday as part of an intense enforcement campaign.
Calgary Police Chief Katie McLellan, addressing a group of uniformed officers and partners, declared that “enough is enough.” This marks her first major public action since assuming office earlier this year.

The initiative, named “Operation Order,” is a comprehensive crackdown on crime and social disorder in downtown Calgary and is part of the broader “Safer Calgary” program.
One notable case involved Grant Robinson, who was fined $120 for throwing a cigarette butt on the ground.
“This is gonna stop me from probably another month because I have to pay it,” Robinson said. “I won’t be able to save money because I have to give the government money.”
Reporters accompanied officers as they patrolled alleys and transit platforms, observing the active enforcement measures.
Summary: The Calgary Police's Operation Order aggressively targets downtown crime through coordinated enforcement and social support, signaling a firm stance against disorder in the city center.
