Tiffany Haddish revealed fresh details about the much-anticipated sequel to the hit film Girls Trip in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. The 45-year-old actress shared that plans to start shooting are underway.
“We had a meeting last week... I’m telling it,” Haddish said. “They mentioned we’re probably going to begin filming next year.” She suggested that production might kick off in the spring of 2026, aiming to finish before summer starts.
“She ready,” Haddish joked, her signature phrase, then added, “I think it’s going to be great. So much fun. Me and the girls were all talking. It was so funny, it was so good.”
Haddish previously starred alongside Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah in the 2017 comedy Girls Trip. The story centers on four friends who reunite for a trip to New Orleans to attend the Essence Music Festival. This role was a major breakthrough for Haddish, propelling her to fame.
Earlier in 2025, producer Will Packer confirmed the sequel is moving forward. During a March interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, he hinted at an exciting new setting and the existence of a script.
“We actually are looking at doing an exotic locale — I can’t reveal it right now, but I do have a script for the first time,” Packer said. “And we’re going to add maybe some new ladies.”
