After Charlie Kirk's assassination nearly two months ago at a Utah University event, his widow Erika Kirk has shared how their young children are coping without their father.
In an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters, Erika explained that her three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son still ask about their dad. The daughter, in particular, wonders how she can talk to him.
"Are they still asking, 'where is daddy?'" asked Watters.
"Yes, my daughter continues to ask," Erika replied. "But it is really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. I said, if you ever want to talk to Daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you."
Erika, holding back tears, recounted telling her daughter that their father is in heaven. The child then asked,
"You think I could go sometime?"
Erika answered, "Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day."
Erika's emotional honesty reveals a tender process of helping her children understand and connect with their father's memory.
