A viral video claims to show the NEOM Stadium—a planned venue for the Saudi Arabian megaproject—located atop a skyscraper. However, these images are AI-generated and not part of the official project.
The striking stadium images have rapidly spread across social media since late October. Users claim they depict the stadium planned for The Line, a futuristic city within Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project.
On October 26, Rwandan user Edwin Musoni shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), which quickly amassed 3.5 million views. The video shows a football stadium seemingly perched 1,150 feet (350 meters) above ground in a futuristic cityscape.
While a stadium is indeed planned for The Line, the circulating visuals were created with AI and do not correspond to any official designs.
Reviewing NEOM’s official accounts on X and Instagram revealed no evidence of this particular video or any stadium suspended at such a height.
NEOM’s actual stadium, highlighted in a post from December of the previous year, is planned to be constructed 350 meters above the ground, but not atop a skyscraper.
“The clip he shared features a football stadium seemingly perched atop a skyscraper within a futuristic city.”
“Musoni claimed the venue will be situated 1,150 feet (350 metres) above ground level.”
“Checking the official NEOM project accounts on X and Instagram, we found no trace of this video clip or images showing a stadium suspended at that height.”
Author’s summary: Viral images of NEOM Stadium atop a skyscraper are AI creations and do not represent the official design, which places the stadium at ground level height of 350 meters within The Line.
