Iran accuses US of ‘bullying’ Venezuela with anti-drug campaign

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized the United States for its approach towards Venezuela, describing it as a "bullying" tactic, according to an official statement from Tehran.

Araghchi condemned the U.S. campaign, which is framed as an anti-drug effort but is viewed by Iran as a form of pressure on Venezuela. The Iranian government perceives this approach as unjust interference in the affairs of a sovereign nation.

"The United States’ bullying approach to Venezuela must cease," Abbas Araghchi said, expressing Tehran’s firm opposition to U.S. actions perceived as coercive.

This statement reflects ongoing tensions between Iran, the U.S., and Venezuela, where diplomatic relations and geopolitical conflicts extend into accusations of interference and campaigns framed under various pretexts.

Iran denounces what it sees as U.S. intimidation tactics disguised as anti-drug operations, reinforcing hostile relations and highlighting its support for Venezuela's sovereignty.
