A taxi route from Khayelitsha to Somerset West has been reopened by the Western Cape government after weeks of violence.
The dispute between rival taxi associations, Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) and Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (CODETA), remains unresolved.
The violence led to the closure of routes between Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Nomzamo, Lwandle, and Somerset West.
Taxis have resumed operation on the route, but the disagreement between the major taxi associations persists.
